I'm doing OK with mine. I've upgraded the HD from 80GB to 300GB (mine's the older version and not the newer slimline version) so I can store more on it.
Pretty simple job to do (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sRkj89axOU) ... remove a plastic cover, undo a screw, remove HD caddy, swap HD (it's only a standard 2.5" laptop HD) and refit. You can even backup the user data so you don't lose anything in the process.
Best time to get one would be when there's an offer going, like free (or discounted price) games, or even a free PS3 -> HDTV lead. Has you've also got yourself a nice large HDTV already, an HDTV lead is a definate must ... picture quality is superb (far better than any PC display can hope to show) and you'll get to see BluRay films in all there glory ... a PS3 isn't just a games console, it's also a pretty damn good BluRay player too.
Has for the size. There's 2 currently available ... 120GB and 250GB ... so if funds allow, go for the larger HD version. If you do end up getting the smaller HD version, swapping out the HD at a later date is an easy process (like I've said above) and shouldn't affect your warranty.
